Speakers shall be limited to a maximum of five (5) minutes. The Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force Control Board may allow a speaker additional time or may allow an unsigned -up person to speak by unanimous consent or majority vote. Those present were: Brad Renfro, Captain- Fayetteville Police Department Jay Cantrell, Sheriff- Washington County Sheriffs Office Frank Gamble, Chief- Springdale Police Department Chris Workman, Chief- Prairie Grove Police Department Willie Newman, Fiscal Director- Fayetteville Police Department Jacob Lawson, Sergeant- 41h Judicial Drug Task Force Jamie Fields, Deputy Chief- Fayetteville Police Department Greg Tabor, Chief Deputy- Washington County Sheriffs Office Tim Franklin, Lieutenant- Fayetteville Police Department Guest: Members of the public. Captain Brad Renfro called the meeting to order. Upon roll call, the above -listed members were acknowledged as present. Copies of the minutes from the December 15, 2022, meeting were distributed to all present. A motion was made by Chief Frank Gamble and seconded by Sheriff Jay Cantrell to approve the minutes. The motion was approved unanimously. A copy of the financial report for the Grant FY2022-2023 was distributed to all present for review, the period ending January 31, 2023. Financial Director, Willie Newman, stated the total expense to date was $289,363.00 which included State J23-004-DF $91,319.00, Local J23-004-DF $27,396.00, and Non-Allowed- $170,648.00. Sergeant Jacob Lawson reported on the task force's activity from January 1, 2023, through January 31, 2023, and distributed a copy of statistics to all present. Lawson stated that in January the task force opened 31 cases, closed 16 cases, and made 9 arrests. Lawson further noted that $8,190.00 was expended for the purchase of evidence, and $650.00 for the purchase of information. Lawson stated that drugs seized during the month included: methamphetamine, marijuana, cocaine, crack cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, fentanyl, and pharmaceuticals. The task force seized 385,034 pills and 10,549 grams of Tianeptine, which is a schedule two synthetic opiate. Lawson stated that 8 warrants were served. Also noted, were 10 drug convictions for January. The task force seized $26,342.00 U.S. currency during the month. The locations of DTF Enforcement Action for the month were Fayetteville 15 cases, Springdale 11 cases, Farmington 2 cases, West Fork 2 cases, and Tontitown 1 case. Sergeant Jacob Lawson reported on the following disposition. DTF 22-139 (State of Arkansas v Robert Rodgers) was a Springdale Police Department arrest resulting in the seizure of $1,144.00 on May 13, 2022. $228.80 went to the Arkansas State Drug Director's Office and $343.20 went to the Washington County Prosecutor's Office. It was recommended that 15% of the net total of $572.00 go to the Drug Task Force and the remaining balance go to the Springdale Police Department. Notes: On May 13, 2022, Springdale Police Department patrolmen conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Robert Rodgers. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed marijuana packaged for distribution along with the currency. Sheriff Jay Cantrell made a motion, seconded by Chief Frank Gamble, to approve this recommendation. The motion was approved unanimously. OTHER BUSINESS Police Chief Todd Thomas, Huntsville Police Department reached out to Sergeant Jacob Lawson and Chief Mike Reynolds to express interest in becoming a member of the Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force. Chief Chris Workman made a motion, seconded by Chief Frank Gamble, to accept the Huntsville Police Department as a participating rural agency of the Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force. This motion was approved unanimously. PUBLIC COMMENT No public comments. Captain Brad Renfro requested a date and time for the next meeting. The next meeting will be on March 15, 2023, at 1:30 P.M.
