Speakers shall be limited to a maximum of five (5) minutes. The Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force Control Board may allow a speaker additional time or may allow an unsigned -up person to speak by unanimous consent or majority vote. Those present were: Mike Reynolds, Chief- Fayetteville Police Department Oscar Henson, Lieutenant- Washington County Sheriff's Office Frank Gamble, Chief- Springdale Police Department Chris Workman, Chief- Prairie Grove Police Department Willie Newman, Fiscal Director- Fayetteville Police Department Jacob Lawson, Sergeant- 4th Judicial Drug Task Force Jamie Fields, Deputy Chief- Fayetteville Police Department Brad Renfro, Captain- Fayetteville Police Department Tim Franklin, Lieutenant- Fayetteville Police Department Guest: Members of the public. Chief Mike Reynolds called the meeting to order. Upon roll call, the above -listed members were acknowledged as present. Copies of the minutes from the November 16, 2022, meeting were distributed to all present. A motion was made by Chris Workman and seconded by Frank Gamble to approve the minutes. The motion was approved unanimously. A copy of the financial report for the Grant FY2022-2023 was distributed to all present for review, the period ending November 30, 2022. Financial Director, Willie Newman, stated the total expense to date was $190,881.00, which included State J23-004-DF $82,556.00, Local J23-004-DF $24,789.00, and Non-Allowed- $83,536.00. Sergeant Jacob Lawson reported on the task force's activity from November 1, 2022, through November 30, 2022, and distributed a copy of statistics to all present. Lawson stated that the task force opened 30 cases, closed 25 cases, and made 24 arrests in November. Lawson further noted that $8,940.00 was expended for the purchase of evidence and $480.00 for the purchase of information. Lawson stated that drugs seized during the month included: methamphetamine, marijuana, cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and pharmaceuticals. Lawson stated that seven warrants were served. Also noted were six drug convictions for November. The task force seized $7,745.00 U.S. currency during the month. The locations of DTF Enforcement Action for the month were Fayetteville, 11 cases; Springdale, 11 cases; Farmington, 2 cases; West Fork, 4 cases; and Prairie Grove, 2 cases. Chief Mike Reynolds asked if the task force saw any new drug trends. Methamphetamine is still the number one threat. Sergeant Jacob Lawson mentioned a slight dip in fentanyl seized but expects those numbers to 4 increase. Sergeant Jacob Lawson gave a quick overview of a case worked by his office where several arrests were made, a large amount of methamphetamine was seized, and a stolen firearm was recovered. The U.S. Attorney's Office has accepted this case for prosecution. OTHER BUSINESS No other business was reported. PUBLIC COMMENT • The acronym GPS was used, which Scott Mashburn asked for clarification. • Scott Mashburn said he was unable to find the meeting packet for the Drug Task Force meeting on the Fayetteville City website. Chief Mike Reynolds requested a date and time for the next meeting. The next meeting will be on January 25, 2023, at 1:30 P.M. Springdale Police Department, CID Conference room, 201 North Spring Ave, Fayetteville, Arkansas. The meeting was adjourned. Minutes recorded.
