BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid # 23-27 and atiiliorizes the
purchase of bulk crushed rock salt from Hutchinson Salt Company for $40.00 per ton for materials picked up and
$89.48 per ton for materials delivered as needed, and further approves the use of other bidders based on price and
availably as needed.

SUBJECT: Awarding Bid 23-27 for the purchase of bulk crushed rock salt
RECOMMENDATION:
A resolution awarding Bid 23-27 to and authorizing the purchase of bulk crushed rock salt from the primary
supplier Hutchinson Salt Company for a unit price of $40.00 per ton if picked up or $89.48 per ton if delivered,
and to authorize the use of other bidders based on price and availability as needed.
BACKGROUND:
The purchase of bulk construction materials and services is necessary to maintain current infrastructure and to
implement projects outlined in the Capital Improvements Program and Annual Budget and Work Program.
DISCUSSION:
Sealed bids in accordance with State statutes, City ordinances, and purchasing procedures were publicly read
and the results are attached to this memo.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Funds for the acquisition of these materials have been budgeted in Street Fund. Bulk crushed rock salt will be
purchased on an "as needed" basis.
