STUDY, POSSIBLY AMEND, AND AFFIRM SUPPORT OF THE AMENDED CITY PLAN 2040:
A RESOLUTION TO STUDY, POSSIBLY AMEND, AND AFFIRM SUPPORT OF THE AMENDED CITY PLAN
2040
WHEREAS, on January 21, 2020, the City Council approved Resolution 35-20 approving and adopting the City Plan
2040 as the comprehensive land use plan for the City of Fayetteville; and
WHEREAS, a majority of current City Council Members have been elected to the City Council after that approval;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council should study and possibly amend the 2040 Long Range Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council should then reaffirm its support of the Amended City Plan 2040.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby expresses its desire to further study and
possibly amend City Plan 2040 and then affirm its support for the Amended 2040 Plan and recommend City Staff s
continued utilization of the plan to guide transportation, utility, and economic development efforts.

Thanks for the conversation on this resolution.
For this resolution, I would like to strike all the goal 2 changes and just stick to the recommit to the master plan for this
one.
Striking:
WHEREAS, the City Council should better define its opposition to "sprawl' in God 2 ofthe 20d0
Plan; and
Ssetic l: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville. Arkansas hereby amelxls (foal 2 of
the City Plan 2040 by deleting its curator wording and amending it to mad as -
"We will discourage environmentally and economically unsusmineblc dc.elopmau practices by
resisting in0auruaure expansion around the undeveloped natural edges of Fayetteville. -
And to change Section 2 to now be Section 1. 1 would like to have this for the agenda session on 02/14 please. Can you
please let me know if you foresee any issues with doing so?
