Ms. Garrison- My wife and I own three duplexes on Linda Jo -1624,1628 and 1632 ( DNS Properties LLC) just around the corner from the location referenced above seeking a Conditional Use for Short Term Rental . I understand that the request was denied by the Planning Commission on October10, 2022. We were unable to attend the meeting and will be unable to attend the City Council meeting when the denial is set to be heard on appeal. We have a son who lives in 1628 who has special needs . He has Down Syndrome and is 32 years old and lives independently. There are many others who live in the Linda Jo cul de sac that also have special needs .These properties are owned by other individuals as well as Life Styles Inc. We , as are others in the area, are opposed to the granting CUP-20 22-0071 . Specifically we are concerned about the safety issues that this Short Term Rental use may cause . Our son and others in the area walk extensively in the neighborhood .They walk to and from the bus stop as well as the Lifestyles campus on Sycamore .Those that rent short term may not understand the area has many residents that have special needs . They may not appreciate the issues that come with being around those with special needs . We respectfully request that the denial by the Planning Commission be affirmed . Please make this written statement a part of the record being considered by the City Council. for this appeal. If there is a different process for our voice to be heard please let us know . Thanks in advance for your time and consideration . David L. Van Bebber davevanb56@gmail.com 479-841-4087 1 2
