Hello,
I just received an email from the Walton Arts Center Council asking to supply my feedback on the addition of the Hotel
at the Civic Plaza.
Seems they are not in favor of the hotel being added due to the parking. I’m not understanding that issue. We are
adding another parking garage. Wasn’t the intent to finish the garage to accommodate the parking needs of the area,
including the hotel. A lot of people coming to the area would not be using a car anyway. OR they would park and leave
while they visit for the games or other engagements in the area.
We NEED a nice hotel close to downtown to people can stay and walk the town. We have made West a nice
street. Have upgraded the area from the ramble to Dickson. The Hotel looks people and would be a great draw to the
area in the part of the city.
I understand that some restaurants like Grubs may not be happy because patrons will have to park up the street. But the
other deck on Spring is around the corner as well.
