City Council, As you consider the new hotel proposal on the south end of Civic Plaza I hope you will not accept 32 parking spaces as adequate for a 130-room hotel. Even if valet off-site parking is offered. We are frequent patrons of the Walton Arts Center and Fayetteville and this would greater hinder our experience and would be a major deterrent for us. I have no problem with development and the addition of hotels and/or new growth, but please look at the necessary need for parking (despite our desire to embrace more bikes). Please do not cut corners here and do not allow exceptions to the standard recommended parking needs. Bentonville lowered the requirement for parking with ‘The Howard’ apartments downtown and it has been a big negative. Thankfully another new hotel proposed across from the courthouse will include plenty of parking so they seem to have learned their lesson. Please don’t learn the hard way like they had to. Sincerely, Marcie Bayles 12-year NWA resident 1
