Subject:Parking in the Entertainment District

As a citizen of Fayetteville, I am writing to ask the City Council to apply their foot to the brakes and very carefully
consider the planned expansion of the Cultural Arts Center by adding a hotel at the south end of the center.
I am a frequent patron of downtown Fayetteville. I attend programs at both Theatre Squared and Walton Arts Center,
and I also serve as an unpaid volunteer at both venues. I make it a point to avoid volunteering or attending either
location if there is a home football game and a program at both WAC and T2 because of the fact it’s difficult to park.
Addition of a hotel — which is not planning adequate parking to accommodate guests and patrons — is a foolhardy
mistake which will wind up hurting downtown restaurants and attendance at the two theaters.
Fayetteville has almost no form of public transportation, and people depend on their automobiles to spend time in the
entertainment district. Please do not sanction the corporate hasty greed of a developer to build a large hotel-restaurant
complex with inadequate parking to accommodate guests.
Thank you for your consideration of my cautions.
