Subject:Arts corridor plans and parking

I would like to express my concerns about the proposed hotel planned for the new arts
corridor area. I am a resident of Fayetteville and customer of the downtown and Dickson
Street businesses.
The fact that only 32 spaces have been proposed for a 130 room hotel is non-sensical and
short sighted. Offsite valet parking is not an option that invites consumers to downtown
businesses. The parking garage that is being built to replace the always-full West Street
parking lot will not be enough to account for the additional spaces needed.
I am requesting the city leaders and city council to wait for the downtown businesses’
parking study before approving any further development.
Failure to make adequate parking plans for new businesses just sets up for failure.
Thank you for your consideration.
