Urban Forestry Advisory Board Meeting
September 7, 2022

Members: Lacey Jennen, Chair; Samuel Adkisson, Vice Chair; Jim Parrish, John Crow, Ken

1. Call to Order: Jennen called the meeting to order at 4:12 pm.
2. Roll Call: Jennen, Adkisson, Parrish, Crow, Colvin, Eastin
3. In Attendance: Jennen, Parrish, Crow, Chesser
Absent: Eastin, Adkisson
4. Staff: Morell, Scott, Evans
5. Approval of August 3 Meeting Minutes:
UFAB Motion: Crow moved to approve August Meeting Minutes. Chesser seconded
the motion. Motion passed 4-0-0.
6. Meeting minutes changes — "Meetings of the Urban Forestry Board will be audio and
video recorded. In conjunction with documentation of attendance, motions, seconds, and
votes, recordings shall serve as the official meeting record and minutes."
I would like a motion by the board to adopt this policy for recording meeting minutes.
UFAB Motion: Parrish moved to adopt the new policy of recording meeting minutes
in lieu of written minutes. Crow seconded the motion. Motion passed 4-0-0.
7. Amazing Tree for 2023- Osage Orange tree in Maclura Round about.
UFAB Motion: Parrish made a motion to make this tree the Amazing Tree of 2023.
Crow seconded the motion. Motion passed 4-0-0.

9. Tree Escrow Project — Board and Staff
a. Background - Staff
b. 2022 Plans — Staff
c. Potential Projects — would the board like to identify potential planting project
locations?

10. Project updates -
A. Hose bib- The meter is set and backflow testing is almost done.
B. Tree label program for 2022/2023 (Tree trail program) -
C. Edible food tree labels. Color code
D. Urban Forestry Management Plan Update.
E. I am working on Fall projects
Salem and Rupple Road — Done; have to put it out for bid.
Mt. Kessler Park Tree replacement — Done: bidding process is started.
Van Asche Road from Gregg to Steel. — Put this project on delay,
265 Tree replacement- Information is gathered for this.
Senior Citizen center Tree planting. In house trees are being ordered.
Celebration of trees October 29t". I am gathering quotes for trees.
11. Adjourn:
UFAB Motion: Crow made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Jennen seconded the
motion. Motion passed 4-0-0.
Meeting adjourned at 5:12 pm.
