Subject: Public Comment from Melinda Mason
Ms. Mason called and wanted to submit public comment but said she does not have access to email, internet or voice
mail. I am submitting this comment on her behalf.
“In regards to the name change for Archibald Yell, I feel that you are only polling Fayetteville business owners and
residents. I have lived in Springdale since 1952 but I have a lot of interaction with City of Fayetteville. I feel there are
other ways to honor individuals other than changing long established street names. Changing a long established street
name causes confusion and hinders drivers. You can honor someone with naming a new street or building. Or with a
plaque. Changing the name of Archibald Yell is not an issue exclusive to just citizens of Fayetteville.”
