Urban Forestry Advisory Board Meeting

1. Call to Order— Jennen called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm.
2. Roll Call: Crow, Colvin, Eastin, Chesser, Jennen, Adkisson, Parrish
3. Staff: Scott, Morell
4. Approval of Previous Month's UFAB Minutes-
UFAB Motion: Adkisson made a motion to approve minutes, with the addition of
Parrish being added for July presentation. Chesser seconded the motion. Motion
passed 6-0-0.
S. Native or Invasive Plant Presentation- June -William Chesser
Chesser presented on Invasive Species.
Discussion followed.
July -Maybe someone can feature a couple of the missing state champ trees for a
presentation. How to identify these trees.
July - Parrish
August - Crow
September - Adkisson
6. Amazing Tree of Fayetteville- Plaques getting ordered.
7. State Champion Trees —
Several species are not shown, I recently got a Mexican plum nominated and won.
Fringetree (Chionanthus virginicus) at Walker Park is nominated.
Plaques are being ordered.

I would love for this board to start searching our parks for some of these missing trees.
Some do not grow in our area.

9. Project updates -
A. Hose bib- Building Exteriors
B. Code Changes — Street Tree Requirements- Passed through Planning Commission
and be at City Council on June 21.
C. Melissa is out for a few more weeks.
D. I am working on Fall projects
E. The Celebration of Trees date is set for October 29.
10. Adjourn:
UFAB Motion: Adkisson made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Parrish seconded
the motion. Motion passed 7-0-0.
Meeting adjourned at 5:17 pm.
