BACKGROUND: The air cascade systems and parts are necessary to refill our self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) bottles used for breathing air when in environments that are toxic. The air cascade systems are vital to fire department operations and the safety of our personnel. DISCUSSION: These air cascade systems will be utilized in the new fire stations #8 & #9. Systems for both stations were approved in the initial fire station bond project as items to be purchased directly by the city to ensure compatibility with existing equipment. BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT: The purchase amount will be $93,084.72 through the Fire Projects 2019 Bond Funds.
