RECOMMENDATION: Approval of a resolution to purchase Self -Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Masks, Parts, and Rapid Intervention Air Paks from G & W Diesel/EVS through the Houston -Galveston Area Council (HGAC) Contract #EE08-10, EE19ADA Product Code Member #14-3975. The purchase amount will be $49,249.58 utilizing Capital Improvement Funds (Project #16002.1 Firefighting Safety Equipment). BACKGROUND: The SCBA masks, parts, and Rapid Intervention Air Paks aid on fire scenes by providing breathing air when in environments that are toxic. This equipment is vital to fire department operations and the safety of our personnel. DISCUSSION: The SCBA equipment contains rescue and repair items that will be necessary due to the replacement of our Self -Contained Breathing Apparatus which is being funded by Washington County. The new equipment is not compatible with any existing equipment without specific upgrades funded by this purchase. Completion of this project will ensure that our SCBA equipment is consistent and compatible with that of our mutual -aid partners and provide for repair equipment to maintain our SCBA. BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT: The purchase amount will be $49,249.58 utilizing Capital Improvement Funds (Project #16002.1 Firefighting Safety Equipment); CIP Project, Firefighting Safety Equipment has current funding of $165,379 in minor equipment.
