JEAN JOWERS RESCISSION DEED: A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE A RESCISSION DEED TO RECONVEY ABOUT 5.82 ACRES TO TRUST A OF THE HOYET GREENWOOD ESTATE SO THAT MS. JEAN JOWERS MAY PERSONALLY DONATE THIS 5.82 ACRES BACK TO THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE WHEREAS, Jean S. Jowers, as Trustee of Trust A of the Hoyet Greenwood Estate on June 4, 2020 conveyed by warranty deed about 5.82 acres near Owl Creek and Owl Creek School for greenspace or parkland to the City of Fayetteville; and WHEREAS, it was discovered that Ms. Jean Jowers would not be able to receive a charitable deduction for her kind donation to the City unless the land conveyance came directly from her rather than from the trust of which she is both the trustee and sole beneficiary; and WHEREAS, in order to allow Ms. Jowers to receive her charitable deduction for her kind gift to the City, the City needs to return the property back to Ms. Jowers' trust by a rescission deed so the trust can convey the property to Ms. Jowers and so she can then personally convey the property back to the City. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: Section I: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves the attached rescission deed and authorizes Mayor Jordan to sign this deed.
