I'm reaching out requesting a special permission to tap into 1 of the 3 Sewer Mains located in my front lawn. I will make this as effectively brief as possible, as I know you both receive numerous requests/emails a day. Background: In October of 2020, my wife and purchased 5 acres of raw land on N. Fox Hunter Rd. just outside city limits in East Fayetteville with hopes to build our forever home, just 2 miles down the road from our current house. As we began the planning process and after speaking with many professionals, I was quickly informed that there are 3 Sewer Mains running through the front of our land, just -200 ft downhill from where we plan to build, which would be easy to access and tap into. This land is 1/2 a mile from the Water Treatment Plant on Fox Hunter Rd. I hired WK Wastewater Systems (Will Jones owner/Madison County Assessor) to conduct a Perc test to determine if the land was suitable for a Septic System but unfortunately it only suitably perc'd in the vicinity of the Sewer Mains (flat part of the land), which is obviously restricted by the Sewer Easement. Request: After speaking with Corey Granderson, City of Fayetteville Sewer Engineer (contact info provided below), he researched, discussed and approved this request alongside the Planning Committee. Corey stated that the final approval needs to come from the City Council of Ward 1, thus the reason for this note. I'm kindly requesting access to tap into the Sewer Main which runs through the front of my ro ertat 1776 N Fox Hunter Rd, Fayetteville AR 72701. My request is well justified, researched and has been discussed in detail with City officials who are all in alignment. Please see additional detail below, for your convenience: Survey - Attachment #1. You will see the plot of land and the obvious Sewer mains on the property. Statement from WK Wastewater Systems professionally recommending utilizing the Sewer main vs alternatives - Attachment #2. • Corey Granderson (City of Fayetteville Water & Sewer Services Engineer, Phone # 479-444-3452) stated he sees no reason why I should not be able to hook up to the main. The illustration he was looking at indicated a possible manhole on the property, which would make the installation of the tap very easy, from an engineering POV. • Owner of Friendly Plumbing in East Fayetteville inspected the land and irrefutably recommended hooking up to the Sewer main. He explained the process and the parts required to ensure proper, safe and efficient hookup which will also be much more eco-friendly than installation of a Septic Tank. • Due to the property not suitably perc'ing, our only option besides Sewer hookup is to sell the property and forfeit the plans we have for the land. We purchased this plot of land two weeks before we became parents, with the intention of raising our daughter on the land versus in a neighborhood.
