Subject: Purchase of one electric Polaris Ranger for Police
Unit 9207 is a 2015 Kawasaki Mule UTV with 13.7/15 points. This unit is used by the Police
Department primarily for monitoring the trails system and during events on Dickson Street or
other tightly packed areas.
For the reasons stated above and the continued push toward the City's Green Initiative, we
have decided to move to an electric version of this UTV. This will allow the PD to monitor areas
without being as loud and disruptive and without the fumes.
A request for quotes was put out and the two lowest were within $300 of each other. We are
choosing to go with the second lowest bidder because the Ranger has more ground clearance,
faster speed, larger weight capacity and is slightly narrower; allowing for tighter spaces. An EV
Polaris Ranger is available from Williams Tractor for $12,064.00.
Sufficient Funds have been budgeted and collected for this purchase.
This item is for informational purposes only. It will not be presented to City Council, as it
is below $20,000 in purchase price.

Subject: Purchase of one solar message board for Transportation
Unit 9174 is a 2013 Solar Tech changeable message board that has exceeded its life
expectancy.
A new Solar Tech changeable message board is available for the GSA contract price of
$15,391.26 plus tax through Solar Technology, Inc.
Sufficient Funds have been budgeted and collected for this purchase.
