BRUCKER'S TRUCK & EQUIPMENT:

BRUCKER'S TRUCK & EQUIPMENT OF LOWELL FOR THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF

WHEREAS, Ladder 3 was damaged while responding to a call in February 2021; and
WHEREAS, Arkansas code §19-11-203 exempts repairs of hidden or unknown damages to
machinery already purchased from the requirements of formal competitive bidding; and
WHEREAS, the Arkansas Municipal League has estimated the repairs to cost $40,223.97 and has
made payment to the City for that amount less the City's $1,000 deductible.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby authorizes the repair of
Fire Apparatus Ladder 3 by Brucker's Truck & Equipment for the estimated amount of $40,223.97,
and further authorizes payment for the repair of any additional damage identified by the repair shop.

CITY COUNCIL MEMO
RECOMMENDATION:
Council approves the repair of Fire Apparatus, Ladder 3 (unit 41) and the payment for
the repair to Bruckner's Truck & Equipment of Lowell, AR in the amount of $40,223.97.
BACKGROUND:
In February Ladder 3 was responding to a call. As they began to turn an ambulance
attempted to pass them at the same time. The ambulance struck the side of the
apparatus causing significant damage. Since that time the Fire department has been
down a Ladder truck and need this repaired as soon as possible.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends approving the repair of Ladder 3 at Bruckner's Truck & Equipment of
Lowell, AR in the amount of $40,223.97.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
The Fire Department has $1,000 budgeted in their self-insurance account in the case of
an accident and will utilize those funds now. The remaining $39,223.97 has already
been received from the Arkansas Municipal League. Once the repairs are complete,
the City will write one check in the total amount to Bruckner's Truck & Equipment.
