BACKGROUND: In October of 2020, staff received a request from the Clabber Creek Phase III property owner's association for a paved trail connection from Firefly Catch Drive to the Clabber Creek Trail. Currently, the over 300 residents of Clabber Creek Phase III must either walk a dirt path and or traverse east to Rupple Road to access the Clabber Creek Trail. On December 4th, 2020, the Clabber Creek Phase III property owner's association approved donating $13,000 to fund the material cost for upgrading the dirt path to a paved trail connection from Firefly Catch Drive to the Clabber Creek Trail. This connection is identified on the Mobility Plan and the Active Transportation Plan. DISCUSSION: The proposed paved trail connection would be 8 feet wide and 450 feet long and utilize a recently upgraded concrete culvert crossing of Clabber Creek as shown on the attached map. The in- house trail construction crew is currently working in the proximity on an extension of the Clabber Creek Trail to Truckers Drive. While they are in the area, the crew could construct this paved trail connection in an estimated 1 month time period and the donation from the Clabber Creek Phase III will cover the material cost. BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT: Recognize Revenue in the amount of $13,000 from the Clabber Creek Phase III Property Owners Association.
