5. Monthly numbers.
In December, all of the single-family residential HHOD projects were added to the yearly
numbers. There were 20 HHOD single-family projects for 2020. 11 grading permits were
approved. Twenty-three acres and 21.5 acres were existing canopies, and 18.5 acres
were preserved for 86% preservation. These numbers are good because of one project,
18 acres. Without the large project, the numbers were 55% tree preservation on 5 acres of
total development. HHOD projects were required to plant 62 trees as landscape
requirements.
Of the 30.42 Acres of development, 23.7 was tree canopy, and 19.6 acres were
preserved. Ninety-six trees will be planted as part of the landscape requirements for the
projects.
Year to date, Urban Forestry has reviewed 377 acres of development, and 109 acres were
canopy covered. 51 % of 109 acres of tree canopy has been preserved. Four thousand
Seven hundred and eighty-one trees will be planted as part of the landscape
