RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the re-naming of S Centennial Park Lane to S Mount Millsap Lane. BACKGROUND: S Centennial Park Lane is located north of Old Farmington Rd and is approximately 740-foot road that was acquired by the City in 2016. It was named in 2018 with the intent that the road would serve as the main entrance to Centennial Park. As Centennial Park plans developed the primary entrance was moved to a new entrance road approximately 650 ft to the east, prompting the renaming of this road. Staff recommended to change the road name to deter Centennial Park visitors from trying to access the park from this road and to name the new entrance S Centennial Park Lane. DISCUSSION: City staff reached out to Jeff Hawkins, who lives on S Centennial Park Lane and who helped staff discuss the original renaming of the street in 2018, to discuss the name change. Mr. Hawkins agreed to serve as the liaison between the City and the property owners that live on S Centennial Park Ln. Mr. Hawkins was able to obtain unanimous consensus to renaming of the road and agreed to the new name of S Mount Millsap Lane. The new road name of S Mount Millsap Ln was reviewed by the City's street naming committee and unanimously approved. That committee consists of City staff from the GIS division, 911 Central Dispatch, and the Fire Department. Staff recommends renaming the road and re-addressing the six residential structures from S Centennial Park Ln to S Mount Millsap Ln.
