Utilizing multiple staffing services will provide the City with the added value of having access to larger and more viable applicant pools in the NWA region. BACKGROUND: To supplement regular, full time staff during periods of increased demand and/or staff shortages (e.g., leaves of absence and turnover/retirement) the City has utilized temporary staffing to maintain necessary business operations. DISCUSSION: The City desires to continue utilizing temporary staffing services to support specific business needs for either short- or long-term assignments across multiple departments. By maintaining the relationship with temporary staffing services, the City will reduce costs of human capital overhead (e.g., workers' compensation, F.I.C.A, and the potential for unemployment claims costs). The usage of temporary staffing services to supplement labor is a common practice among NWA municipalities in their daily operations. BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT: The 2021 budget has funding allocated for temporary staffing. Please contact me at 575-8298 if you have questions. To Whom It May Concern: Thank you for allowing me to refer 1st Employment Staffing to your company as a viable answer for your temporary staffing needs. During the past 3 years in C my capacity as the Public Works Maintenance y t,,,r,••,w Supervisor for the City of Bentonville. I have worked with three different local staffing companies for a • period of one year. As a result of our bid award each company had the exclusive rights to our staffing needs for that year during which time they were responsible `c for providing up to 30 workers daily and often on short notice. --- Prior to this year I would say that each of the other local companies did an adequate job with only a few minor mistakes. It was only after working with 1st Employment this year that I realized the height of customer service a company could reach. Their pool of employees is big enough to meet our challenges and the in-service/training prior to reporting to us far exceeded other staffing companies. Our liaisons with 1st Employment have never failed to check on attendance and are constantly monitoring our rate of a e clientele satisfaction. If they need to make any adjustments— choice they do so immediately! customer I would say without hesitation that they live up to their motto and deservedly rate the highest of referrals.
