20-48 and approves the purchase of a Ford Transit Van from Lewis Automotive Group of Fayetteville
in the total amount of $34,526.00, for use by the Information Technology Department.

SUBJECT: Purchase of a Utility Transit Van for the IT Department
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to award Bid 20-48 to Lewis Automotive Group of Fayetteville, AR and to approve
the purchase of a Ford Transit Van for $34,526.00 for the IT Department.
BACKGROUND:
Unit 2098 is a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 that has exceeded its life expectancy. This unit
was originally purchased for Utilities Management. However, in 2016 when the staff member
using this unit moved to the IT Department, the unit was moved over along with the employee.
The IT Department is needing to purchase a transit van to haul equipment to multiple locations
across the City. Purchasing a unit that has drawers and shelving will best suit the department's
need.
Through Bid 20-48, a Ford Transit Van can be purchased through Lewis Automotive Group of
Fayetteville, AR for $34,526.00.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends the purchase of the Ford Transit Van through Lewis Automotive Group of
Fayetteville, AR for $34,526.00.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
There is a shortfall in the funds collected for this purchase, however this should be made up
with the sale of the old unit.
This purchase was approved at the June 9th Equipment Committee Meeting.
