OZONE DISINFECTION SYSTEM CLEANING AND REFURBISHMENT SERVICES:
AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND APPROVE A QUOTE FROM PINNACLE
OZONE SOLUTIONS, LLC FOR CLEANING AND REFURBISHMENT OF THE OZONE
DISINFECTION SYSTEM AT THE NOLAND WATER RESOURCE RECOVERY FACILITY IN THE
AMOUNT OF $39,300.00 PLUS APPLICABLE TAXES
WHEREAS, in 2014 the Noland Water Resource Recovery Facility upgraded to ozone disinfection
systems which includes specialized equipment that the manufacturer must provide and service; and
WHEREAS, Pinnacle Ozone Solutions, LLC is the sole manufacturer and service provider for the brand
QuaBlock, the ozone generators that are installed at the Noland Water Resource Recovery Facility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby finds the above
circumstances make competitive bidding not feasible or practical and therefore waives the requirements
of formal competitive bidding and approves the quote from Pinnacle Ozone Solutions, LLC for cleaning and
refurbishment of the ozone disinfection system at the Noland Water Resource Recovery Facility in the
amount of $39,300.00 (plus any applicable taxes).

SUBJECT: Pinnacle Ozone Solutions, LLC - Ozone Equipment Cleaning and
Refurbishment for the Noland Water Resource Recovery Facility
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of a quote for cleaning and refurbishment services for the ozone
disinfection system at the Noland Water Resource Recovery Facility from Pinnacle Ozone
Solutions, LLC in the amount of $39,300.00 plus applicable taxes.
BACKGROUND:
The Noland Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) was upgraded from UV disinfection to
ozone disinfection in 2014. The ozone disinfection system has several ozone generators that
disinfect the wastewater as part of the treatment process.
DISCUSSION:
Pinnacle Ozone Solutions is the sole manufacturer and service provider for the brand of ozone
generators (QuadBlock) that are installed at the Noland facility. They have submitted a quote for
cleaning and refurbishment of the 12 ozone generators in the amount of $39,300.00 plus taxes.
The quote includes two trips to the facility to remove, refurbish, and reinstall the 12 ozone
generators. Staff recommends approval of cleaning and refurbishment services to properly
maintain the ozone disinfection system.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Funds are available in the Plant Pumps and Equipment account within the Water & Sewer Fund.
