BACKGROUND: The Parks Department has two units up for replacement. Unit 372, a 2009 Ford F350 and unit 2110, a 2007 Ford F150; that both have exceeded their life expectancies and are operating with high Faster points. In addition, the Water & Sewer Department was approved to purchase an expansion unit for use by their new asphalt repairing crew. Through Bid 20-35, three heavy duty trucks can be purchased to fulfill the needs of both departments; a Ford F550 with dump body for the amount of $63,277.00, a Ford F550 with utility body for the amount of $66,037.00, and a Ford F350 flat bed for the amount of $42,984.00 for a combined total of $172,298.00. DISCUSSION: Fleet recommends the purchase of all three trucks through Lewis Ford Sales for the awarded price of $172,298.00. BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT: Sufficient funds have been budgeted and collected for these purchases. All three purchases were approved at the April 141h Equipment Committee Meeting.
