BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute the utility easements attached to this Resolution in favor of the City of West Fork to allow the installation of sewer lines on property owned by the City of Fayetteville that will transport sewerage from West Fork to the Noland Wastewater Treatment Facility for treatment. Their treatment facility needs major improvements, and it is more economical for them to pay the City of Fayetteville to accept, treat and discharge sewage collected by West Fork. A 15 -year contract to accept this waste stream was approved by the City Council on March 5, 2019 per Resolution 64-19. DISCUSSION: The City of West Fork will construct gravity mains leading to a new sewer lift station, then construct force mains northward into Fayetteville, connecting near the Washington County detention center. The easements requested cross the City -owned Fayetteville Municipal Airport property, Drake Field. The Airport Services Manager has already reviewed and supports the proposed easement alignments (letter attached). The easements requested per this resolution would be granted without compensation to West Fork to facilitate the sewer force main. West Fork Sewer Main to Fayetteville Permanent Utility Easement Drake Field, Fayetteville Mr Granderson: This letter is in reference to the City of West Fork sanitary sewer ppeline project proposed to pass through lands owned by the Fayetteville Municipal Airport, Drake Field. Project consulting engineer, MCE has provided proposed Drawings and easement documents illustrating the proposed pipeline route and details. Generally„ the pipeline wi l run parallel to the western airport property line from the southwest corner to a point near the commercial hangers, then pass west outside of the airport secured area and continLe north along the east side of Hwy 718, see supporting exhibits. The Airpor` takes no issue with this project, the proposed pipeline alignment or granting the requested permanent utility easement for the ongoing maintenance and repair of the proposed infrastructure.
