BACKGROUND: Two Leak Detection Technician positions were approved for 2019. Vehicles are necessary for these technicians to perform their assigned job duties. The goal is to identify leaks in the water system and dramatically decrease water loss throughout the City of Fayetteville, DISCUSSION: Fleet recommends the purchase of a Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4x2 for $21,974.00 and a Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4x4 for $22,662.00, a total of $44,636.00 both available for the State Contract price through Superior Automotive of Siloam Springs, AR for use by the Water and Sewer Department. BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT: Sufficient funds have been budgeted for these purchases. A budget adjustment is required because the funds were originally budgeted for in Water and Sewer's project and needs to be moved to Fleet's project for purchase.
