REPEAL RESOLUTION 08-19:
A RESOLUTION TO REPEAL RESOLUTION NO. 08-19 AND AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF A
DODGE DURANGO WITH TOWING PACKAGE FROM SUPERIOR AUTOMOTIVE OF SILOAM
SPRINGS IN THE AMOUNT OF $26,922.00, PURSUANT TO A STATE PROCUREMENT
CONTRACT, FOR USE BY THE COMMUNITY RESOURCES DIVISION
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 08-19, passed on January 3, 2019, authorized the purchase of a Dodge
Durango from Superior Automotive of Siloam Springs but the cost of a towing package, which is
necessary for the Community Resources Division to haul an enclosed trailer, was inadvertently omitted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby repeals Resolution No.
08-19 and approves the purchase of a Dodge Durango with towing package from Superior Automotive of
Siloam Springs in the amount of $26,922.00, pursuant to a state procurement contract, for use by the
Community Resources Division.

SUBJECT: Purchase of one SUV for the Community Resources Department
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council approve the repeal of resolution 08-19 and to approve the purchase of a Dodge
Durango available for the state contract price through Superior Automotive of Siloam Springs,
AR in the amount of $26,922.00, for use by the Community Resource Department.
BACKGROUND:
Unit 2077 is a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with 14.1/15 points and has exceeded its life
expectancy. It has been determined that the use of this vehicle has changed, and an SUV
would better benefit them.
Resolution 08-19 was approved at the January 3, 2019 City Council Meeting, however upon
reviewing the resolution for purchase Fleet discovered that the cost of a towing package was
inadvertently left out of the total. The base price of this vehicle is $25,727.00. The addition of
the towing package is $1,195.00, for a total of $26,922.00. This will allow Community
Resources to pull an enclosed trailer they have to events held throughout the City.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends the purchase of a Dodge Durango available for the state contract price
through Superior Automotive of Siloam Springs, AR in the amount of $26,922.00, for use by the
Community Resource Department.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient funds have been budgeted and collected for this purchase.
