SOURCEWELL COOPERATIVE PURCHASING CONTRACT, FOR USE BY THE
TRANSPORTATION SERVICES DEPARTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby authorizes the purchase of
a Vogele Paver from H&E Equipment Services, Inc. in the amount of $412,988.56, pursuant to the
Sourcewell cooperative purchasing contract, for use by the Transportation Services Department.

CITY COUNCIL MEMO
RECOMMENDATION:
A resolution to authorize the purchase of a Vogele America Super 1700-31 Paver from H&E
Equipment Services of Springdale, AR in the amount of $412,988.56, pursuant to the
Sourcewell Contract, for the Transportation Department.
BACKGROUND:
Unit 9125 is a 2009 Vogele Paver with 13.2/15 points and it has exceeded its life expectancy.
This unit is Transportation's only Paver for all of the City's streets.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet and Transportation have compared contract pricing for both Caterpillar and Vogele Pavers
with the features required to continue preforming paving jobs to the standards Fayetteville
citizens are accustom to. The lowest Sourcewell contract price and lowest life cycle cost was
for a Vogele America Super 1700-31 Paver from H&E Equipment Services of Springdale, AR in
the amount of $412,988.56. This will be the best value for the City. With the current Paver,
Vogele has shown outstanding service for the machine and training for the operators.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient funds have been budgeted and collected for this purchase.
This item was approved by the Equipment Committee on October 9, 2018.
