Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby authorizes the purchase of
a 2019 Kenworth T270 Cab and Chassis with a G & H Model 8000 Rotating Container Carrier from MHC
Kenworth of Springdale, Arkansas in the amount of $112,313.78, pursuant to a Sourcewell Cooperative
Purchasing Contract, for use by the Recycling and Trash Collection Division.

SUBJECT: Purchase of one Container Truck for Recycling and Trash Collection
RECOMMENDATION:
A resolution to authorize the purchase of a 2019 Kenworth T270 Cab and Chassis with a G &
H Model 8000 Rotating Container Carrier from MHC of Springdale, AR in the amount of
$112,313.78, pursuant to the Sourcewell Procurement Contract, for use in the Recycling and
Trash Department.
BACKGROUND:
Unit 499 is a 2009 Freightliner Container Carrier truck with 15/15 points. This truck is used to
move and transport trash containers. This is the only truck of its kind in the Fleet.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends the purchase of a 2019 Kenworth T270 Cab and Chassis with a G & H
Model 8000 Rotating Container Carrier from MHC of Springdale, AR in the amount of
$112,313.78, pursuant to the Sourcewell Procurement Contract, for use in the Recycling and
Trash Department.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient funds have been budgeted and collected for this purchase.
This item was approved by the Equipment Committee on June 12, 2018.

RECOMMENDATION:
Review and sign the Kenworth Truck Company Limited Warranty Agreement, agreeing to the
various warranties associated with new unit 4043, a 2019 Kenworth T270 Container Carrier
Truck.
BACKGROUND:
Fleet received unit 4043 on January 17, 2019. To receive the benefit of the factory warranty the
Kenworth Truck Company Limited Warranty Agreement needs to be signed.
DISCUSSION:
•
Fleet utilizes warranties similar to this often. It saves the City significant amounts of time and
funds. Fleet has a Warranty Coordinator who closely tracks and monitors these Warranties to
make sure the City receives the full benefit that is possible.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Fleet foresees this as only a positive impact to budget. By utilizing the warranty, it saves budget
by having Kenworth cover the cost of repairs covered instead of using City funds.

adjustments under warranty up to the earlier of the first 25,000 miles or the first 90 days after the Date of Delivery,
Parts used to repair a Warrantable Failure may be new parts,approved remanufactured parts,or repaired pads.. Kenworth is not responsible for failures
resulting from the use of parts not approved by.Kenworth. A new or approved remanufactured part used to repair a Warrantable Failure assumes the
Identity of the part it has replaced and is entitled to the remaining warranty coverage,if any.
Vehicle`Telematics Subscription Your Kenworth vehicle may include an.activated subscription service that records and sends:diagnoslic and system
data from your vehicle to Kenworth and selected suppliers and service providers for the purpose of assuring that your vehicle is operating properly,and to
permit us to communicate with you regarding Vehicle information, The Vehicle Information that we collect will also help us improve our vehicles in the
future,and enable us lo.locate your vehicle under certain limited circumstances. Kenworth and its suppliers and serviceproviders have implemented
information and data security controls to safeguard the Vehicle Information we collect By using the subscription services,you consent to the collection and
.use of the Vehicle Information in the manner desuibed by Kenworth and its suppliers arid service providers.If you choose not to allow Kenworth access Io
your data,you may suspend your subscription by contacting an authorized PACCAR dealer,
Kenworth is not responsible for loving or roadside assistance should there be a defect in the Vehicle Kenworth is not responsible for damage or loss
resulting from engine horsepower/torque upgrades.
Kenworth reserves the right to inspect and download data from the Vehicle and Engine Electronic Control Modules(ECM)for purposes of failure
