$22,572.00, PURSUANT TO A STATE PROCUREMENT CONTRACT, FOR USE BY THE WATER
AND SEWER OPERATIONS DIVISION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby authorizes the purchase of
a 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 4WD Quad Cab from Lewis Automotive Group of Fayetteville, Arkansas in the
amount of $22,572.00, pursuant to a state procurement contract, for use by the Water and Sewer Operations
Division.

SUBJECT: Purchase of one Excavator and Attachment for Water & Sewer
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council authorize the purchase of a Dodge Ram 1500 4WD Quad Cab from Lewis
Automotive Group of Fayetteville, AR in the amount of $22,572.00, pursuant to the Arkansas
State Contract, for use by the Water and Sewer Department.
BACKGROUND:
Unit 2143 is a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4x4 Extended Cab with only 11.6/15 points.
However, it has exceeded the 6 year life expectancy and is now having engine trouble. The
amount to repair this is not cost effective considering the age and remaining life of the unit.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends the purchase of a Dodge Ram 1500 4WD Quad Cab from Lewis Automotive
Group of Fayetteville, AR in the amount of $22,572:00, pursuant to the Arkansas State
Contract, for use by the Water and Sewer Department.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient funds have been collected for this replacement. Due to another unit coming in well
underbudget, there are also sufficient funds in the budget for this purchase.
This item was approved by the Equipment Committee on April 10, 2018.
