BACKGROUND: Unit 685 is a 2008 New Holland Backhoe that has met the 10 year life expectancy and currently has 15/15 points. Water and Sewer has determined that they can more efficiently work with a compact excavator and Breaker Attachment. This change will save funds both on purchase price and on operating costs. DISCUSSION: Fleet recommends the purchase of a Bobcat E42 T4 Compact Excavator for $45,902.70 and a Bobcat HB980 Hydraulic Breaker Attachment in the amount of $6,744.20, a total of $52,646.90 from Bobcat Company of West Fargo, North Dakota, pursuant to a national joint powers alliance cooperative purchasing agreement, for use by the Water and Sewer Department.
