BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid No. 16-66 and
authorizes the purchase of an Elgin Crosswind Street Sweeper from Scruggs Equipment Company of
Memphis, Tennessee in the amount of $202,265.00 for use by the Transportation Services Department.

SUBJECT: Purchase of one Sweeper for Transportation
RECOMMENDATION:
That City Council approve the purchase of one Elgin Crosswind Sweeper for lowest bid price
received through Bid 16-66 in the amount of $202,265.00 available through Scruggs Equipment
Company of Memphis, TN for use in the Transportation Department.
BACKGROUND:
Unit 9146 is a 2010 Nissan A9000 Sweeper that has met the 6 year life expectancy and
currently has 67% of the original purchase price in life to date maintenance costs. The City only
has 2 street sweepers which run -every day and pick up anywhere from 40 - 64 yards of waste
each day.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends the purchase of one Elgin Crosswind Sweeper for lowest bid price received
through Bid 16-66 in the amount of $202,265.00 available through Scruggs Equipment
Company of Memphis, TN for use in the Transportation Department.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient funds have been budgeted and collected for this purchase.
This purchase was presented to the Equipment Committee on January 10, 2017.
