THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves the purchase of
three Police Package Chevrolet Tahoe's from Superior Automotive Group of Siloam Springs in the total
amount of $95,589.00, pursuant to a state procurement contract, for use by the Police Department.

SUBJECT: Purchase of three Tahoes for Police Department
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council authorize the purchase of three Chevy Tahoes with Police Pursuit Packages from
Superior Chevrolet of Siloam Springs, Arkansas in the amount of $31,863.00 each, for a total of
$95,589.00, pursuant to the State Contract, for use by the Police Department.
BACKGROUND:
In the 2018 CIP an expansion unit was approved for the Police Department. Fleet has already
issued a ready unit to the Police Patrol for this purpose.
Two Police Patrol units were totaled recently and 1 was issued as the 2018 expansion unit.
This reduced our stock by 3 units on the lot. Fleet anticipates 3-4 current Tahoes to need
replacement this year. To ensure Fleet has upfit units ready when needed, 3 new Tahoes need
to be ordered now.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends the purchase of three Chevy Tahoes with Police Pursuit Packages from
Superior Chevrolet of Siloam Springs, Arkansas in the amount of $31,863.00 each, for a total of
$95,589.00, pursuant to the State Contract, for use by the Police Department.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient funds have been budgeted for these purchases.
This item was presented to the Equipment Committee on February 13, 2018.
