BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby authorizes the purchase of
a Bobcat E45 Excavator with attachments from Bobcat Company of West Fargo, North Dakota in the
amount of $69,857.30, pursuant to a National Joint Powers Alliance cooperative purchasing agreement,
for use by the Transportation Services Department.

SUBJECT: Purchase of one Excavator for Transportation
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council authorize the purchase of a Bobcat E45 Excavator with attachments from Bobcat
Company of West Fargo, ND in the amount of $69,857.30, pursuant to the NJPA Contract, for
use by the Transportation Department.
BACKGROUND:
Unit 687 is a 2008 New Holland Backhoe with 13.6/15 points. Transportation has determined
that they could use an excavator more efficiently than a backhoe. This change is significantly
less expensive to purchase and to operate.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends the purchase of a Bobcat E45 Excavator with attachments from Bobcat
Company of West Fargo, ND in the amount of $69,857.30, pursuant to the NJPA Contract, for
use by the Transportation Department.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient funds have been budgeted and collected for this purchase.
This item was presented to the Equipment Committee on February 13, 2018.
