BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves a budget
adjustment, a copy of which is attached to this Resolution, in the amount of $18,000.00 recognizing
parkland dedication fees from the Northeast Quadrant to be used to upgrade the water line and plumbing
at the Veterans Park restroom facility.

SUBJECT: Approval of a budget adjustment to recognize Northeast Quadrant Park
Land Dedication Funds to the Lake Fayetteville Improvements Project
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of a budget adjustment to recognize $18,000 of unrecognized
funds in the NE Park District into the Lake Fayetteville Improvements project to upgrade the
water line and plumbing at Veterans restroom.
BACKGROUND:
The Veterans Park restroom was constructed in 1999 with a water meter and service line sized
to accommodate park users at the time. As the park system has grown and with the addition of
the Lake Fayetteville trail and Razorback Greenway along with associated special events held
at Veterans Park and on the trail system, the service line is no longer adequate to supply the
demand of current park users. The addition of the commercial development to the south of the
park in recent years has resulted in a water main located much closer to the restroom than the
current water meter, which provides an economical opportunity to upgrade the plumbing
system.
DISCUSSION:
A new water meter located closer to the restroom and a larger service line will be installed to
provide sufficient supply of water to meet current and future needs. The pressure tank and
associated plumbing system currently in place will be removed, since it will not be needed once
the larger service line is installed. Multi -craft contractors will conduct the plumbing work
utilizing the City Bid Tab 16-51 for Plumbing services.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Unrecognized NE Quadrant Park Land Dedication Funds in the amount of $18,000 are
available and being requested to be recognized for the Veterans water line and plumbing work.
Park Land Dedication Funds are collected from residential development and can only be used
within the park quadrant they are collected in.
