SUPERIOR CHEVROLET:
A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF A CHEVROLET TAHOE, SPECIAL
SERVICE UTILITY VEHICLE FROM SUPERIOR CHEVROLET OF SILOAM SPRINGS, ARKANSAS
IN THE AMOUNT OF $34,524.85, PURSUANT TO A STATE PROCUREMENT CONTRACT, FOR
USE BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby authorizes the purchase of
a Chevrolet Tahoe, Special Service Utility Vehicle from Superior Chevrolet of Siloam Springs,
Arkansas in the amount of $34,524.85, pursuant to a state procurement contract, for use by the Fire
Department.

SUBJECT: Purchase of one Tahoe for the Fire Department
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council approve the purchase of a Chevrolet Tahoe, Special Service Utility Vehicle is
available off the Arkansas State Contract in the amount of $34,524.85 through Superior
Chevrolet of Siloam Springs, AR for use by the Fire Department.
BACKGROUND:
Unit 2129 is a 2008 Ford F250 4x4. This unit has met its 10 year life expectancy, however
this request is being made on the basis that the needs of the Fire Department have changed.
This vehicle is currently being driven by Assistant Chief Hunt, an SUV would better fit his
needs to haul equipment and personnel. This will help the Fire Department serve the citizens
in a more efficient manner.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends the purchase of a Chevrolet Tahoe, Special Service Utility Vehicle is
available off the Arkansas State Contract in the amount of $34,524.85 through Superior
Chevrolet of Siloam Springs, AR for use by the Fire Department.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient funds have been budgeted and collected for this purchase.
This item was presented to the Equipment Committee on January 9, 2018.
