Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid #17-34 and
authorizes the purchase a Ford F550 with Dakota Body and Aerial Platform from Grand Truck
Equipment of Afton, Oklahoma in the amount of $103,115.00 for use by the Transportation Department.

SUBJECT: Purchase of one Bucket Truck for Transportation
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council approve the purchase of a Ford F550 with Dakota Body and Aerial Platform was
the lowest bid received through Bid 17-34 that met all specifications in the amount of
$103,115.00 available through Grand Truck Equipment Company of Afton, OK for use by the
Transportation Department.
BACKGROUND:
Unit 369 is a 2009 Ford F550 and Aerial Platform truck that has exceeded its 8 year life and
has 15/15 points. This is the Traffic Department's one aerial bucket truck to service 120 traffic
signals, a few hundred lights along the trails and the downtown Fayetteville lighting, as well as
any signs attached to traffic signals. An expansion platform truck has been ordered and is
expected soon.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends the purchase of a Ford F550 with Dakota Body and Aerial Platform was the
lowest bid received through Bid 17-34 that met all specifications in the amount of $103,115.00
available through Grand Truck Equipment Company of Afton, OK for use by the Transportation
Department.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient funds have been budgeted and collected for this purchase.
This item was presented to the Equipment Committee on January 9, 2018.
