BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid #17-59 and
authorizes the purchase of bulk crushed rock salt from Central Salt, LLC for $73.00 per ton for materials
picked up and $75.65 per ton for materials delivered as needed through the 2018 Winter season.

SUBJECT: Bid 17-59, Bulk Crushed Rock Salt
RECOMMENDATION:
A resolution awarding Bid 17-59 to and authorizing the purchase of bulk crushed rock salt
from Central Salt LLC for a unit price of $73.00 per ton if picked up or $75.65 per ton if
delivered, as needed, throughout the 2018 winter season.
BACKGROUND:
The purchase of bulk construction materials and services is necessary to maintain current
infrastructure and to implement projects outlined in the Capital Improvements Program and
Annual Budget and Work Program.
DISCUSSION:
Sealed bids in accordance with State statutes, City ordinances, and purchasing procedures
were publicly read and the results are attached to this memo.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Funds for the acquisition of these materials have been budgeted in Street Fund. Bulk
crushed rock salt will be purchased on an "as needed" basis with payment remitted via
procurement card.
