Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid #17-64 and
authorizes the purchase of a Bobcat S-595 Skid Steer and 84 -inch Angle Broom in the total amount of
$46,298.00 from Williams Tractor of Fayetteville, Arkansas for use by the Recycling and Trash
Collection Division.

SUBJECT: Purchase of one Skid Steer and Attachment for Recycling and Trash
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council approve the purchase of a Bobcat S-595 Skid Steer in the amount of $42,391.00
and a Bobcat 84" Angle Broom in the amount of $3,907.00, for a total of $46,298.00, the lowest
Bid 17-64 price, available through Williams Tractor of Fayetteville, AR.
BACKGROUND:
Unit 694 is a 2011 Caterpillar Skid Steer. This unit has reached its 6 year life expectancy and
is at 96% of its original purchase price in life to date maintenance cost.
Unit 674 is a 2006 Bobcat Broom Attachment. This unit has long passed its 8 year life
expectancy and is at 132% of its original purchase price in life to date maintenance cost. This
item was in the 2014 budget, but pushed back to be purchased with the new Skid Steer.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends the purchase of a Bobcat S-595 Skid Steer in the amount of $42,391.00
and a Bobcat 84" Angle Broom in the amount of $3,907.00, for a total of $46,298.00, the lowest
Bid 17-64 price, available through Williams Tractor of Fayetteville, AR.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient funds have been budgeted and collected for this purchase.
This item was presented to the Equipment Committee on December 12, 2017.
