BACKGROUND: Unit 495 is 2009 Freightliner Recycle Truck that has exceeded its 8 year life expectancy. Currently it has 51,496 miles, 13,040 hours and is at 80% of its original purchase price in life to date maintenance costs. Unit 496 is 2009 Freightliner Recycle Truck that has exceeded its 8 year life expectancy. Currently it has 56,848 miles, 12,867 hours and is at 89% of its original purchase price in life to date maintenance costs. Unit 497 is 2009 Freightliner Recycle Truck that has exceeded its 8 year life expectancy. Currently it has 57,133 miles, 11,984 hours and is at 75% of its originai purchase price in life to date maintenance costs. Each of these units will exceed its 60,000 mileage expectancy by the time the replacements arrive in 9-11 months. These trucks match our existing fleet, to continue the current recycling operation. DISCUSSION: Fleet recommends the purchase of three International 7300 4x2 Recycling Trucks with Kann Bodies for the lowest Bid 17-49 price of $169,100.00 each, for a total of $507,300.00 available through Summit Truck Group of Lowell, AR. BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT: Sufficient funds have been budgeted and collected for these purchases. This item was presented to the Equipment Committee on December 12, 2017.
