BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid #17-62 and
authorizes the purchase of two Bobcat E45 T4 Compact Track Excavators from Williams Tractor of
Fayetteville, Arkansas in the total amount of $83,988.00 for use by the Water and Sewer Operations
Division.

SUBJECT: Purchase of two Excavators for Water & Sewer
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council approve the purchase of two Bobcat E45 T4 Compact Track Excavators for
lowest Bid 17-62 amount of $41,994.00 each, for a total of $83,988.00 available through
Williams Tractor of Fayetteville, AR for use by the Water & Sewer Department.
BACKGROUND:
Unit 815 is a 2007 Bobcat 435 Excavator with 116% of the original purchase price in life to
date maintenance cost. It has exceeded the 8 year life expectancy.
Unit 817 is a 2008 Bobcat 329 Excavator with 68% of the original purchase price in life to date
maintenance cost. It has exceeded the 6 year life expectancy. This is a smaller excavator
and no longer fits the needs of Water & Sewer.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends the purchase of two Bobcat E45 T4 Compact Track Excavators for lowest
Bid 17-62 amount of $41,994.00 each, for a total of $83,988.00 available through Williams
Tractor of Fayetteville, AR for use by the Water & Sewer Department.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient funds have been collected and budgeted for this purchase.
This item was approved by the Equipment Committee on November 14, 2017.
