BACKGROUND: The Parks department is responsible for mowing the steep slopes that include Lake Fayetteville dam, Lake Wilson dam, Mt. Kessler slope, Ridgeway Park slope and various ditches and slopes in parks and trails. DISCUSSION: Fleet recommends the purchase of one Alamo RidgeRunner remote control slope mower is available for the NJPA price of $48,220.66 through Alamo Industrial of Seguin, TX for use in the Parks Department. Depending on the stock level at the time the vendor receives the purchase order, there may be a savings of $1,200.00. BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT: Sufficient funds have been collected from the sale of several old pieces of equipment previously owned by the Parks Department (units 998, 5018, 680, 2076, 5040, 5041, 9078, 9108). This expansion was not previously planned and a budget adjustment will be presented to Council for the use of fund balance. This item was approved by the Equipment Committee on October 10, 2017.
