HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017-08-17 - Minutes -FAYETTEVILLE — DRAKE FIELD Airport Board Minutes August 17, 2017 MEMBERS PRESENT: Darryl Riddell, Paul Algee, Marty Burggraf, Bill Corley, Rick Bailey, Todd Crane MEMBERS ABSENT: Lizzie Johnson OTHERS PRESENT: Summer Fallen/City, Dee McCoy/City,Kate lyn Osbourn/City Terry Gulley/City Ben Perea/Garver Engineers ITEM # 1: Call to Order, Darryl Riddell ITEM # 2: - Approval of the Airport Board Minutes of the August 17, 2017 meeting • A motion to approve the August 17, 2017 minutes was made by Marty Burggraf and seconded by Rick Bailey. The motion carried. Terry Gulley made the announcement that Summer Fallen has been appointed Airport Services Manager. Dee McCoy has filled the Finanical Coordinator position, and Katelyn Osbourn has filled the Administrative Assistant Postion. The position for Customer Services Represenative is currently open, and should be filled in the next couple weeks. ITEM # 3: Receiving of Reports: A. Director's Report— provided by Summer Fallen -Airport Services Manager • Airport Activity: Tower operations in June were 2,244 and 2090 in July, which is up from May but up overall for the year. June and July fuel sales were 33,152 and 32,213 gallons which is up from May and up 10% over last year's sales. • Roof Rehab Project: Franklin and Sons has completed all rehab projects, except the terminal building, which is still in progress.The total project should be complete in 30-45 days. • Corporate Roof Rehab Project: Contractors are on-site and plan on beginning this week dependent on weather. • Self -Service Pumps:The Southern Company will begin the installation of new self -serve pumps next week. During the period the pumps are down the FBO will offer full-service Avgas at self -serve price, if the customer taxis to FBO. • Available Lease Space: There is no corporate or terminal space avialabe for lease on the field. Skydive Fayetteville is the lastest tenat to lease space in the terminal, which will increase exposure and our operations. NWA Fashion Week will be holding their fall fashion show at the airport. Which will increase exposure. B. Financial Report: provided by Dee McCoy -Financial Coordinator: • FBO expenditures were $860,123 and the FBO revenue was at $698,211.00 with a total unaudited profit of $161,911. C. T -hangar Report - provided by Katelyn Osbourn -Administrative Assistant: • The airport has 3 vacant single size t -hangars. There are currently 4 people on the waiting list for a twin size hangar. D. Museum Report -provided by Rick Bailey: PAGE 1 OF 2 • There will be a T-34, B-29, B-51, C-45 and a Stearman at the museum during Bikes, Blues & BBQ. The Commerative Air Force will be bring five aircraft during this time to give rides. • Airport Days will be on Saturday. ITEM # 5: Old Business: None ITEM # 6: New Business: A. Website Discussion: • Summer Fallen presented the progress to the Airport website. The website is not completed, it is still a work in progress. The new domain name will be www.iflyfyv-ar.com. Todd Crane suggested it would be inappropriate to have businesses under the "Services" tab since those businesses are not run by the city. An alternative would be to put "Available Services". ITEM # 7: Other Business: A. Items from the Airport Board: B. Items from the Public: • Joe Johnson presented the pliminary plans on behalf of the Air and Military Muesuem to renovate and update the current building.
