BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid #17-45 and
approves the purchase of a trailer mounted Ring -O -Matic Hydro Excavation Unit from UCO Equipment,
LC d/b/a Utility 1 Source of Cabot, Arkansas in the amount of $64,575.00 plus applicable taxes for use
by the Water and Sewer Operations Division.

SUBJECT: Purchase of one Trailer Mounted Vacuum System for Water & Sewer
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council approve the purchase of one trailer mounted Ring -O -Matic Hydro Excavation unit
available for the lowest bid received that met specifications through Bid 17-45 from Utility One
Source of Cabot, AR in the amount of $64,575.00 for use in the Water and Sewer Department.
BACKGROUND:
Water and Sewer is in need of a vacuum excavation system to expose existing utilities. This
would assist in water and sewer repairs in difficult access areas and with the cleanup of drilling
mud used in directional boring. Currently Water & Sewer uses their one truck mounted sewer
cleaner to do this work, however it should be used to clean sanitary sewer lines to prevent
sewer overflows and respond to customer complaints.
This expansion was requested and approved with the 2017 budget.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends the purchase of one trailer mounted Ring -O -Matic Hydro Excavation unit
available for the lowest bid received that met specifications through Bid 17-45 from Utility One
Source of Cabot, AR in the amount of $64,575.00 for use in the Water and Sewer Department.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient funds have been budgeted for this purchase.
This purchase was approved by the Equipment Committee on August 8, 2017.
