BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby awards Bid #17-36 and
authorizes the purchase of a Ford F750 with Altec Aerial Platform from Altec Industries, Inc. of Creedmoor,
North Carolina in the amount of $132,212.00 for use by the Parks and Recreation Department and the
Transportation Department.

SUBJECT: Purchase of one Bucket Truck for Parks and Transportation
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council approve the purchase of a Ford F750 with Altec LR7-56 Aerial Platform in the
amount of $132,212.00 available through Altec Industries, Inc of Creedmoor, NC for use in the
Parks and Transportation Departments.
BACKGROUND:
Unit 344 is a 2004 Ford F750 Aerial Bucket Truck. It has exceeded- its life expectancy and has
60% of the original purchase price in life to date maintenance cost. This unit is shared between
the Parks Department and Transportation and is used primarily for trimming/cutting trees and
the Lights of the Ozarks. This is the largest and only bucket truck of this size in our Fleet.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends the purchase of a Ford F750 with Altec LR7-56 Aerial Platform in the amount
of $132,212.00 available for the lowest bid received through Bid 17-36 through Altec Industries,
Inc of Creedmoor, NC.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient funds have been budgeted -and collected for this purchase.
This purchase was approved by the Equipment Committee on June 13, 2017.
