BACKGROUND: The Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission (NWARPC), serving as the NWA Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), is accepting applications for projects and trail lighting is eligible for funding. The funding amount is $490,000 for the metropolitan area. Due to budget constraints, lighting was excluded from the project. The electrical design is complete and electrical conduit is being installed in preparation for future lighting. If the requested funding amount is approved, lighting can be installed along the entire trail length to the Regional Park. BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT: If the Transportation Alternatives Program grant is approved and fully funded, the City will be responsible for 20% of the total project cost, or up to $70,000. The 20% matching funds are available through the Trail Development Capital Improvement Project. Attachments: NWARPC — Call for Projects FFY 2018 Cato Springs Trail Map Mailing Address: 113 W.
