Subject: Purchase of one Groomer for Parks Department
An expansion groomer was requested and approved with the 2017 budget for the four new
baseball fields that are being added at the Regional Park. These additional fields will require a
groomer to prepare the fields daily for games.
There is a Toro Sand Pro 5040 for the National IPA Contract price of$23,423.95 available
through Professional Turf Products, L.P. of Tulsa, OK.
Sufficient funds have been budgeted for this purchase.

Subject: Purchase of one Truck for Fleet Department
Unit 2091 is a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 that has exceeded the10 year life expectancy and
has 103% of life to date maintenance cost. This vehicle is used in the Fleet department to drive
all over Northwest Arkansas to pick up or drop off parts that are needed for the City's vehicles.
It is driven every day and is an essential tool to keeping our fleet up and running.
A Dodge Ram 2500 regular cab, long bed is available for the State Contract price of$21,443.00
through Lewis Ford of Fayetteville, AR. We believe the long bed will be beneficial and safer
when transporting large cylinders.
Sufficient funds have been budgeted for this purchase. There is a shortfall in collection,
however this should be made up in the sale of the old unit.

Subject: Purchase of one Sedan for Fleet Department
Unit 1162 is a 2007 Ford Taurus that has reached its 10 year life expectancy and has 91% of its
original purchase price in life to date maintenance cost. This vehicle is in Fleet's rental pool and
is used when another unit is being repaired or if an employee needs to travel for business.
There is a Ford C-Max Hybrid for the State Contract price of$21,542.00 available through Lewis
Ford of Fayetteville, AR. This purchase would make 3/4 of Fleet's rental pool hybrid vehicles.
Sufficient funds have been budgeted but not collected for this purchase. We do not anticipate
the $3,600 shortfall to be made up with the sale of the old unit, however the difference in fuel
efficiency should make up the remainder. According to advertised mileage the C-Max should
get 22 miles more to the gallon in town than the Ford Fusion would.

Subject: Purchase of one Wheel Rake for Wastewater
Unit 5030 is a 2011 New Holland H5920 Wheel Rake. This unit has met the 6 year life
expectancy. This item is used heavily in the spring to assist in producing hay to sale in fields at
the Wastewater Treatment Plant, East. This unit is wearing out and we would like to have it
replaced prior to hay season this year.
A 2017 New Holland ProCart 1225, 12 wheel rake with center kicker is available for the NJPA
contract price of$7,704.00 through William's Tractor, Inc. of Fayetteville, AR.
Sufficient funds have been budgeted and collected for this purchase.
This item is less than $20,000 and will presented to the Equipment Committee for
information and will not go before Council.
