SUPERIOR CHEVROLET - WATER AND SEWER OPERATIONS DIVISION:
A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A CHEVROLET TRAVERSE FROM SUPERIOR
CHEVROLET OF SILOAM SPRINGS IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,578.21, PURSUANT TO A STATE
PROCUREMENT CONTRACT, FOR USE BY THE WATER AND SEWER OPERATIONS DIVISION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves the purchase of a
Chevrolet Traverse from Superior Chevrolet of Siloam Springs in the amount of $25,578.21, pursuant to a
state procurement contract, for use by the Water and Sewer Operations Division.

-SUBJECT: Purchase of one Traverse for Water & Sewer
RECOMMENDATION:
That City Council approve the purchase of one Chevrolet Traverse available for the State
Contract price of $25,578.21 from Superior Chevrolet of Siloam Springs, AR for use by the
Water & Sewer.
BACKGROUND:
Unit 1160 is a 2006 Ford Explorer and has exceeded its expected 8 year life. This vehicle is
used by the Water and Sewer Operations Manager as a take home unit for fast response to
emergency issues. It is also used to transport employees to training. It is currently at 71 % of its
purchase price in life to date maintenance cost.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends the purchase of one Chevrolet Traverse available for the State Contract
price of $25,578.21 from Superior Chevrolet of Siloam Springs, AR for use by the Water &
Sewer.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient funds have been budgeted and collected for this purchase.
This purchase was approved by the Equipment Committee on December 13, 2016.
