A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A CHEVROLET TRAVERSE AWD FROM
SUPERIOR CHEVROLET OF SILOAM SPRINGS IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,188.21, PURSUANT TO
A STATE PROCUREMENT CONTRACT, FOR USE BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves the purchase of a
Chevrolet Traverse AWD from Superior Chevrolet of Siloam Springs in the amount of $25,188.21,
pursuant to a state procurement contract, for use by the Police Department.

SUBJECT: Purchase of one Traverse -for Undercover Police
RECOMMENDATION:
That City Council approve the purchase of one Chevrolet Traverse AWD available for the State
Contract price of $25,188.21 from Superior Chevrolet of Siloam Springs, AR for use by the
Police Department.
BACKGROUND:
Police is requesting an expansion undercover vehicle for their expansion detective. This vehicle
will be used for crime scene investigation, transportation of evidence, providing safe
transportation for non -uniformed and unarmed civilian personnel, covert patrolling, as well as
surveillance and intelligence gathering. This expansion was approved with the 2017 budget.
DISCUSSION:
Fleet recommends the purchase of one Chevrolet Traverse AWD is available for the State
Contract price of $25,188.21 from Superior Chevrolet of Siloam Springs, AR for use by the
Police Department.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
Sufficient funds have been budgeted for this purchase.
This purchase was approved by the Equipment Committee on December 13, 2016.
